Retirement Villages List

The Commercial and Consumer Tribunal has jurisdiction to deal with retirement village disputes between residents and scheme operators by way of the following three-step dispute resolution process:

Parties must first attempt to settle the dispute within the village by following the procedures in the Retirement Villages Act 1999.
When the parties have attempted to settle the dispute within the village they can apply to the registry for a dispute notice to have the matter referred to mediation.
If the mediation is not successful an application can then be made to the Tribunal for a hearing.
