Standard procedures for commercial and consumer disputes
Claim steps
- Application form completed, signed and dated and filed in CCT registry with application fee.
- Applicant serves registered copy of application form (and attachments) on respondent/s.
- Respondent files and serves defence and counterclaim.
- Mediator appointed or matter listed for a directions hearing.
- Parties file their statements and prepare for hearing.
- Parties and witnesses attend hearing.
- Final decision handed down.
Review steps
- Review filed in CCT registry within 28 days of decision to be reviewed.
- Matter listed for a directions hearing.
- State agency's statement of reasons and party statements provided.
- If applicable, parties may attend mediation, otherwise parties prepare for hearing.
- Parties and witnesses attend hearing.
- Final decision handed down.
