The tribunal was established on 1 July 2003 to deal with matters in a way that is just, fair, informal, cost efficient and speedy. It determines matters in the following lists:
- Architects List
- Body Corporate and Community Management List
- Building List
- Disability Services List
- Liquor List
- Manufactured Homes List
- Plumbers and Drainers List
- Professional Engineers List
- Property Agents and Motor Dealers List
- Residential Services Accreditation List
- Retirement Village List
- Tourism Services List
The tribunal is a quasi-judicial body (ie like a court) and is impartial between the parties. The tribunal staff are not permitted to give legal advice or advise parties on conducting their dispute. These issues are best addressed to appropriately qualified experts, such as legal practitioners
