The Queensland Government has established a privacy regime for the Queensland Public Sector based on 11 Information Privacy Principles which regulate, among other things, the collection, storage, accuracy, use and disclosure of personal information. The 11 Information Privacy Principles are contained in an Information Standard that agencies are required to adhere to. A copy of this standard (Information Standard No.42) can be accessed at http://www.privacy.qld.gov.au.

Collection of personal information
The main way that we collect personal information from you is where you have lodged forms prescribed or approved under the legislation we administer e.g. a review application. Personal information may include your full name, date of birth, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, residential and postal address. Whenever personal information is collected, reasonable steps shall be taken to inform you of the purpose for which the information is collected and, where applicable, any law that requires particular information to be collected.
How do I access documents?
A person is entitled to apply to the director to inspect a document on the public register of the Tribunal. The prescribed fee must be paid for inspection of the register or documents and any associated photocopying fees. It is recommended that the Search or Inspection of Register or File form (click here to access) be completed and provided to the Registry. The Registry will then contact you to arrange a suitable time for the search to be conducted and associated costs.Please note that before providing you with any of your personal information we will ask you to provide evidence of your identity.
Please note the Freedom of Information Act 1992 does not apply to the Tribunal and Tribunal Registry (section 11 refers).
